Defend Hawaii or Lose it | Support SB2054
SB2054 prohibits what the Constitution already bars, but it does so proactively through state law to prevent the very risks the Guard fears. It turns a constitutional principle into a lawful and enforceable shield tailored to Hawaii's context.

Hawaii's Malpractice Sanctuary Bill | OPPOSE SB2868 & HB1875
The so-called “health care” bill, introduced in January has now passed its third hearing in the House, but there is still time to stop its Senate companion. Don’t let the innocent title fool you. This legislation is about creating a malpractice sanctuary where doctors who deliver botched gender-affirming procedures and face lawsuits elsewhere can set up shop in Hawaii with zero fear of real accountability. It supercharges the 2023 reproductive shield law for gender-affirming

Keep the Government Out of Your Body | Support HB2512 and HB2199
We’ve spent years watching politicians decide they know better than you do about what goes into (or stays out of your own body). Mandates, prohibitions, job threats, school barriers; the playbook is familiar by now.
HB2512 and HB2199 are two measures that draw a hard line against this type of overreach. They simply insist that your body belongs to you. The Libertarian Party of Hawaii supports both measures without reservation. Here’s exactly what they do and why we’re pu

Dangerous Reform Disguised as Voter Choice | Oppose SB2480
Oppose SB2480 the bill pairs this "open-voting" reform with a far more problematic top-two rule: Only the two candidates receiving the most votes in the primary, regardless of party, advance to the November general election. This creates an artificial bottleneck that overrides the benefits of expanded primary choice. It risks turning general elections into contests between two similar candidates from the dominant party.

Unmask the State | Stop Anonymous Policing | Support SB2203
Requiring law enforcement officers to show their faces while dealing with the public is not “anti-police.” It is pro-rule-of-law. It draws a bright line between legitimate authority and the tactics of authoritarian regimes. Officers who act for the people and under color of law must be willing to stand behind their actions in the light of day, and answer to the individuals they serve.

If Accountability Offends You, You ARE the Problem | End Qualified Immunity | Support SB2145
The Libertarian Party of Hawaii has one message for police departments fighting SB2145: If real accountability offends you, you are the problem. This bill is about ending the legal shield that lets government agents violate your First Amendment rights with zero consequences. It is exactly why Hawaii’s police departments are scared.
Here’s what SB2145 does:
It explicitly codifies your existing First Amendment right to record law enforcement officers when they are performing t

IN SUPPORT OF DEFEND HAWAII: SB2054
The Libertarian Party of Hawaii strongly supports SB2054 (the Defend Hawaii Bill) and we are proud to have helped in these efforts. While this version is narrower than our original proposal, it remains a historic, pragmatic, and urgently needed victory for Hawaii’s liberty, autonomy, constitutional rights, and the original public meaning of the Second Amendment. SB2054 amends Hawaii Revised Statutes §121-30 by adding a clear, enforceable prohibition:

LNC Condemns ICE Fourth Amendment Violations | Defend Hawaii Wins National Backing
The Libertarian Party of Hawaii is proud to announce that a resolution authored by Hawaii Chairman Austin Martin, has been formally adopted by the Libertarian National Committee (LNC). This is how we check power from the bottom up: the national party condemns the abuse, and the state affiliate withholds the resources that make the abuse possible.

Right to Record Law Enforcement | Support SB2145
The Libertarian Party of Hawaii proudly stands in strong support of SB2145. It stands out as one of the most important civil liberty bills of the 2026 legislative session. SB 2145 establishes a clear, explicit right of every person in Hawaii to record law enforcement activities in public. It also creates a powerful private right of action to hold officers accountable when they illegally interfere with this fundamental right.

Don't Murder Infants | Support SB213
I can’t believe that it needs to be said at all, but doctors, please don’t murder infants. Don’t neglect them. Don’t violate your oaths. SB213 requires that every infant born alive receives medically appropriate and reasonable life-saving and life-sustaining care. It establishes clear civil and criminal penalties for anyone who fails to provide that care. This isn't complicated or controversial; it's basic human decency.

Justice for Minors | Support SB277
SB277 & HB384 would strengthen safeguards for minors against sexual exploitation, and it would do so without inflating government bloat or infringing on consensual adult behaviors. We're throwing our support behind it, you should too. It defends the most vulnerable from aggression.

Now Banning Sticks Too | Hawaii's Attack on the Second Amendment | Oppose SB433
Senate Bill 433 is the Aloha State's latest swing at restricting your right to carry anything sharper than a butter knife or heavier than a pineapple. This gem prohibits open and concealed carry of dirks, daggers, blackjacks, metal knuckles, bladed weapons, batons, cudgels, truncheons, police batons, collapsible batons, billy clubs, or nightsticks. Nothing says "public safety" like turning a pocket knife into a felony enhancer.
