The Bylaws & Platform Committee has closed out its work for the year, and it is a milestone worth celebrating. This committee has prepared a full bylaws revision and a new platform draft for the upcoming Special Convention. Both committee reports have been adopted and sent to the Executive Committee. On July 5, 2026, the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) passed the Resolution on the Warrantless Dragnet Surveillance of Personal Electronic Devices. It condemns the growing web of tracking tools that police departments now use to monitor and track ordinary people. It also calls for a warrant based on individualized probable cause before any agency collects location data. At the July 5th, 2026 Libertarian National Committee (LNC) meeting, the Resolution on Tribal and National Sovereignty was unanimously adopted. The committee acknowledged the inherent sovereignty of Native American tribal nations and the Hawaiian Kingdom, and affirmed that their sovereignty predates and supersedes the jurisdictional frameworks imposed by the United States government. On June 24, 2026, the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Hawaiʻi unanimously adopted a Resolution for State Affiliate Speech Autonomy. The resolution affirms the independence of state affiliates, challenges any claim of national authority to police affiliate communications without express bylaws authorization, and calls for written procedural standards before any affiliate can be disciplined.

The gavel has come down on the 2026 Hawaii legislative session, and it was the most active, most effective session in LPHI history. On May 14, 2026, Governor Josh Green signed Senate Bill 2471 into law as Act 11. The Libertarian Party of Hawaii stands firmly behind the federal lawsuit filed by the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii to strike it down. Act 11 prohibits incorporated organizations from engaging in what the law terms "election activity" and "ballot-issue activity." Those categories are defined so broadly that spending money to speak for or against a candidate, a ballot measure, or a political party
