Oppose SB2480 the bill pairs this "open-voting" reform with a far more problematic top-two rule: Only the two candidates receiving the most votes in the primary, regardless of party, advance to the November general election. This creates an artificial bottleneck that overrides the benefits of expanded primary choice. It risks turning general elections into contests between two similar candidates from the dominant party.

Requiring law enforcement officers to show their faces while dealing with the public is not “anti-police.” It is pro-rule-of-law. It draws a bright line between legitimate authority and the tactics of authoritarian regimes. Officers who act for the people and under color of law must be willing to stand behind their actions in the light of day, and answer to the individuals they serve.

I can’t believe that it needs to be said at all, but doctors, please don’t murder infants. Don’t neglect them. Don’t violate your oaths. SB213 requires that every infant born alive receives medically appropriate and reasonable life-saving and life-sustaining care. It establishes clear civil and criminal penalties for anyone who fails to provide that care. This isn't complicated or controversial; it's basic human decency.
