The Bylaws & Platform Committee has closed out its work for the year, and it is a milestone worth celebrating. This committee has prepared a full bylaws revision and a new platform draft for the upcoming Special Convention. Both committee reports have been adopted and sent to the Executive Committee. Our current bylaws say very little about how revisions are supposed to happen. To keep the work sound, the committee leaned on Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised to create

On July 5, 2026, the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) passed the Resolution on the Warrantless Dragnet Surveillance of Personal Electronic Devices. It condemns the growing web of tracking tools that police departments now use to monitor and track ordinary people. It also calls for a warrant based on individualized probable cause before any agency collects location data. On June 24, 2026, the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Hawaiʻi unanimously adopted a Resolution for State Affiliate Speech Autonomy. The resolution affirms the independence of state affiliates, challenges any claim of national authority to police affiliate communications without express bylaws authorization, and calls for written procedural standards before any affiliate can be disciplined.

No public official should enjoy a permanent shield from accountability, especially those charged with holding others accountable. The End Judicial Immunity Act is a short but bold legislative proposal designed to restore balance and protect civil liberties by ensuring that Hawaii’s courts serve the people rather than insulate those who wield power. Judicial immunity is a doctrine rooted in common law that has expanded throughout the years through federal court decisions.

Oppose SB2480 the bill pairs this "open-voting" reform with a far more problematic top-two rule: Only the two candidates receiving the most votes in the primary, regardless of party, advance to the November general election. This creates an artificial bottleneck that overrides the benefits of expanded primary choice. It risks turning general elections into contests between two similar candidates from the dominant party.
