Agricultural Private Property Rights | OPPOSE HB1737
Hawaii's farmers and ranchers need more housing options for their workers. The Libertarian Party of Hawaii agrees with that premise. But HB1737, which is currently moving through the Legislature under the banner of expanding farm employee housing, does something that should concern anyone who values private property rights and local governance. It imposes new statewide restrictions on privately owned agricultural land across the state, potentially overriding county rules that

Medical Malpractice Sanctuary Proposed in Hawaii
Libertarian Party of Hawaii opposes SB2868 & HB1875. It explicitly expands the exact same statutory shield framework enacted in Act 2 (SLH 2023) to protect “lawful reproductive health care services.” That Reproductive Health Protection Act was passed to shield providers and patients from out-of-state liability after Dobbs. This bill simply inserts “gender-affirming health care services” into the identical protections. It covers everything from malpractice immunity and insuran

Defend Hawaii | Talk of Amendments
We are happy to announce that our Defend Hawaii Act is still going strong. Questions have been raised by a number of representatives on whether to add title 10 to strengthen the language. This would make the bill much closer to the original LPHI draft. The recent Newsom v. Trump ruling provides precedent. Track and testify on the bill to make sure the Defend Hawaii Act becomes law. Thank you to all who have already contacted their representatives and submitted testimony. Thi

Election Integrity Updates | March 2026
Recent election integrity concerns have been over ballot discrepancies, chain-of-custody failures, voter registration verification issues, ERIC system errors, and repeated violations of the Sunshine Law. We’ve seen a troubling pattern of dismissing public testimony, blocking motions, and resisting oversight. These problems have drawn criticism from across the political spectrum, including demands for removal of key officials and greater compliance with federal laws like HAVA

Defend Hawaii or Lose it | Support SB2054
SB2054 prohibits what the Constitution already bars, but it does so proactively through state law to prevent the very risks the Guard fears. It turns a constitutional principle into a lawful and enforceable shield tailored to Hawaii's context.

Right to Record Law Enforcement | Support SB2145
The Libertarian Party of Hawaii proudly stands in strong support of SB2145. It stands out as one of the most important civil liberty bills of the 2026 legislative session. SB 2145 establishes a clear, explicit right of every person in Hawaii to record law enforcement activities in public. It also creates a powerful private right of action to hold officers accountable when they illegally interfere with this fundamental right.

Antidote to Hawaii's Legalized Kidnapping Scheme | Support HB264 | Protect Parental Rights
HB264 obliterates that playbook.
By banning any consideration of gender affirmation (or non-affirmation) in Hawaii custody decisions, it yanks the rug out from under the the state's efforts to legalize kidnapping.

Now Banning Sticks Too | Hawaii's Attack on the Second Amendment | Oppose SB433
Senate Bill 433 is the Aloha State's latest swing at restricting your right to carry anything sharper than a butter knife or heavier than a pineapple. This gem prohibits open and concealed carry of dirks, daggers, blackjacks, metal knuckles, bladed weapons, batons, cudgels, truncheons, police batons, collapsible batons, billy clubs, or nightsticks. Nothing says "public safety" like turning a pocket knife into a felony enhancer.

Defend Hawaii Update| Support SB2054
SB2054, was introduced on January 21, 2026, opening day of the legislative session. Sponsored by eight Democratic senators, it amends Hawaii Revised Statutes §121-30 to prohibit Hawaii National Guard units (when under state control or Title 32 duty) from assisting, cooperating with, or providing resources to federal troops, federal law enforcement, or out-of-state National Guard forces deployed in Hawaii if the Governor objects to those deployments.

Insidious Plans to Poison Hawaii Water | Fluoride Mandates
Hawaii's lawmakers are gambling our health in favor of state overreach. The opposed bills reek of corporate influence and outdated science, while HB540 offers evidence-based reasoning and thorough protections. Oppose SB488, SB2073, SB727, and SB682.
